I have learned how important a systematic approach is to solving a complicated problem. The numbers, theory, and processes of this project were often confusing and, at times, overwhelming. I did not have a system for dealing with all the input. George Schuster, my mentor, helped me develop an organized approach to using, storing, and generally dealing with the data. It is a skill that will be useful for problem solving in the future.
I believe this experience has made me a better science teacher, in general.
I have gained experience and knowledge as a real scientist and now have
a much better insight into what a scientist is. This too will be valuable
information I can share with students.
